I watched a documentary program about "Hikikomori."
"Hikikomori" is a Japanese term to refer to the phenomenon of reclusive peopele who have chosen to withdraw from social life, often seeking extreme degree of isolation and confinement because of various personal and social factor in their lives.
They usually stay indoors in their room and live in the world of the Internet.
For them, virtual world is real.
In Japan, there is a site, "2 channel," which is popular among otaku and hikikomori.
They comment on the site and talk with others.
Communication through the Internet is convenient, but just exchaning text makes us lonely.
I don't know that such people struggle with lonliness or not, but human being need the face-to-face communication.
