Did you guys know the case which a certain big TV station might be purchased by the private enterprise?

It was a huge news in Japan.
There was a news that the livedoor, a listed company in those day, bought up a lof of stocks (35%) of Nippon Broadcasting System.
The name of Representative Director is Takafumi Horie.
His name and company became famous immediately afterwards.

In 2005, the reconciliation with Fuji Television which was subsidiary of Nippon Broadcasting System was formed, and the issue of aquiring broadcast rights disappeared.

He grew his hands by political world, and ran for the general election of member of the House of Representatives.
However, he defeated.

He became too famous....

In 2006, he was arrested in violation of Securities and Exchange Law.

He fell to a criminal from a famous person and celebrity.

I thought he was crazy when I watched this news.
Also, broadcasting shouldn't be used for only one company.

Windows Live Messenger

Windows Live Messenger of MSN became new.
I updated soon but it wasn't convenent.
I liked former system because screen of new one is too big.
In former one, I could use it with doing other things such as using internet.
when I use new system of messenger, I was taken a lot of space.
I don't like very much....

But I hope I will find nice contents which there weren't in former system.
What I was happy was that I could see new message if I didn't open the folder on Web.
I can download a content which is like Microsoft Outlook.

I have two hotmail account, private and BSU, so it is a little complicated, though...

I want to sell my textbook which I used last semester!!
My friends said "if you sell your textbook, you may be able to get money more than selling in bookstore."
I wanna challenge!!
However, I don't know how....

I had bought the textbook online before, and it was cheaper than bookstore.
The quality was not bad. A lot of times passed until I got it, though.

Online shopping is common now, and I also use to get some Japanese goods.
but I had a stereotype which online shopping is dangerous for security.
Also I don't use it when I'm in Japan.
I want to check a product before I decide to buy.
Because I don't like that it is different product which I imaged.
We can't know the quality, image, marerial, and size with just photograph, right?

Online shopping is really convenient for people who are difficult to move such as the elderly and physically handicapped person.
However, there are a lot of issues which should be improved.

I researched some Japanese food recipe online today!
Actually, I already know how to cook almost Japanese food, but sometimes someone post new easy recipe! That's why I check it :-)

I also had posted on Japanese homepage for cooking.

I ususlly check a sarving recipe and diet menu :-)
It is really convenient!

I had watched cooking recipe in English.
However, I was surprised that they use a lot of oil!!
I found that they mixed oil for cake.....
So I thought I don't want to use...lol

Update???

Today, we had a Japanese baseball game near Boston at 8:00!
I got up early... Im so sleepy now.
We lose the game but it was really fun!
The team of opponent came from New York.
I enjoyed watching and keeping score :-)

On facebook, a captain of my team usually inform something such as next game's schedule.
But I don't open facebook very much, so I sometimes don't know the information.
One day, I got a call from him.


"Hey Yuriko! Upgrade a status!"


.............?? What?


"On facebook!"

.............?? Upgrade?

I don't get the meaning.
I may have no sence of a machine...
I'm Mass media major, though.
I have to learn more!!
First, I will remember how to use facebook X(

Diet!!

I am getting information to lose my weight now.
We have a lot of way to diet.
Eating banana in the morning seems to be good.
Drinking coffe before and after eating seems to be good, too.
Olive oil has a work to stop stocking the fat.... oh, nice.

What is the best, I mean true information?!
We are sometimes confused because there is too much information online.
How can we find SOLID INFORMATION???

For my opinion, I check whether it is private homepage or company and group homepage.
I believe the information in bigger homepage than private one.
But It will be reliable when sender write about his/her experience in private homepage.

Therefore, I picked up a way of dieting from private homepage!

YES! I CAN! CHANGE I NEED!

Turkish cinema

I watched a movie "Three Monkeys" today for my class.
I felt that the technique of editing, contrast of color, and shooting were really good.
But the speed of story was too slowly... I became sleepy a little bit....

Do you guys know the meaning of Three Monkeys?
Actually it comes from Japanese.
According to Wikipedia...

The three wise monkeys (:Japanese 三猿, san'en or sanzaru, or 三匹の猿 , sanbiki no saru, literally "three monkeys") are a pictorial maxim. Together they embody the proverbial principle to "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil". The three monkeys are Mizaru, covering his eyes, who sees no evil; Kikazaru, covering his ears, who hears no evil; and Iwazaru, covering his mouth, who speaks no evil. Sometimes there is a fourth monkey depicted with the three others; the last one, Shizaru, symbolizes the principle of "do no evil". He may be shown crossing his arms.

Internet problem

Last night, I couldn't connect to my apartment's internet network suddenly.
I was doing my homework online then, so I was really upset....!!
The dead line of assignment was one hour later!!

"I'm in trouble!!!"

I went to campus to use wireless netwook of BSU, and I did in front of Boyden.
However, IT HAD RAIN!!

Oh my goodness.... my lap top wet a little bit.

I felt that I couldn't do anything without Internet.
Online class and online assignment is easy to do anytime and anywhere,
but I can't check homework assignment, log in to Blackboard, and submit my work if Internet access is not available.

I was fine yesterday, but I don't want to feel like that
never ever.......

Candid!!

I watched a Japanese TV show last night.
It was Candid proglam!! It names "London Hearts"
A popular comedian was a target, and he was recommended to release CD as a singer by big music company.
His name is Eiko Kano.
He has a character to be easy to be decieved, and he was positive for it because he wanted to be a singer before he became a comedian.
He spent 3 month to compose a lot of songs, and the songs are really stupid and funny.
Finally, he could hold a live in a big music hall.
In this live, there were 1000 people, but they were all instigator.
The live became lively very much.
However, of couse it was fake, too. haha

He fell into the pit which was set on the stage at last.
I can't forget his face at that time.

This TV plan is really huge, and it had been take long period.
How much did it cost to just deceive one comedian....

BSU blackboard

Im taking COMM311 class now, too.
It is Media Literacy.
In this class, we usually use blackboard to give an opinion and comment it.
This system is awsome, and online class is really effective to study Media.
we can communicate through online, and it is not face-to-face communication.
Sometimes I misunderstood what classmates said, but I could get a skill to tell people what I want to say.
The class is basically harder than offline class for me because I always have to pay attention to syllabus and announcement on blackboard.
However, I am very fun to talk them about media literacy :-)

I usually use computer for most of the class to use on-line dictionary(transrater of Japanese)
Therefore, I need it during class.
Some professor prohibits to bring the rap top becuase some student use for playing game, chatting, and so on.
that's huge problem for me.....I need dictionary!!
On the other hand, online class can use it anytime.
I love it!

Online game

I like to play online game on Facebook and MIXI.
Mixi is Japanese social networking searvice site.
In other words, Japanese version of Facebook :-)
There are a lot of free online game there.
They are really fun!
In their game, I play "Kanji authorization" and "English vocablary" every day on MIXI.
I can feel the learning is "Game" there, and I can enjoy learning.
It is good way of studying.

On Facebook, I sometimes play pazzle game.
It is for just passing the time during weekend or changing feeling before sleeping.
However the game is training of brain except for during busy.

I want to bacome to play these game more when I am busy, though...X(

We can play some funny game freely recentlly.
We have a good chance to do it.

video joint ownership site.

I found that a system of Korean video joint ownership site has changed!
Actually I used it very much before, but I can't see any video if I don't pay and join a member.
I'm so sad this situation, but it is good tendency!
Recently, movie, dorama, and comedy show was watched freely.
someone arrested because they upload some animation illegally in the video joint ownership site such as youtube.
It became a big issue of copyright.
It seems to settle the rule of it slowly now.

BUT!!
I thought about the Korean site again......
Do they really take permission of composer or TV and movie company?
I'm not sure the fact, but I think "NO"
The new illigal bussiness is occuring.......?

Actually I didn't sleep all day...
I'm sooooo sleepy but I have to study.
So I am writing blog to go my sleepiness away X-(

Im reading a textbook about Turkish cinema for other communication class now.
Before I read it, I have no interest.
However, it sounds like fun!
Turkey and Japan have a good relationships. Did you know that??
It is because of Ottoman frigate Ertugrul.

anyway... I will talk about Turkish cinema :-)

Turky revered Europe as a model before the establishment of the Turkish Republic.
Therefore, music, jeans, foreign brand name sneakers, Hollywood movies, fast food chains, massive shopping malls are intermalized.

However, there are a lot of Muslim, so the country was somewhat devided to two culture, Muslim and secularist.
Therefore Turkish cinama has a movie which is conscious of Europe, and a movie which is made to protect the tradition.


I can't understand the reason why the traditional things are thought old.
I want them to keep protecting their traditional culture with developing many technology.

My first post

Hi all! This is my first time to post it.
I'm using for my class, foundations media studies, but I enjoy blogging :-)

Today's topic is Skype!

I use Skype everyday to talk to my boyfriend who is in Japan.
I also have Windows Live Messenger, but I think Skype is better when we talk because the picture and voice is clear.
Im not sure the difference but I felt that.

I really thank for skype!
Because It's FREE!!
when I talked with my mom with an international telephone call, it costed ..............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Huge amount of money.....

I will use it from now too to communicate with my friends, mom, and boyfriend :-)
